Why is pre-existing condition cover unique to Prestige?
Most travel policies (including Caser's Vacacional and Integral) explicitly exclude flare-ups of conditions you had before the trip - even something as mundane as managed asthma or a known heart condition. Prestige is the only Caser plan that covers up to €15,000 of medical care for pre-existing condition deterioration. Disclosure at quote is essential.
Is trip cancellation really included?
Yes - €6,000 cancellation is standard on Prestige (vs being a €1,500 optional on Vacacional and Integral).
When is Prestige worth the price?
Going to the US, Canada or Asia where medical costs can quickly exceed €100k. Going on an expensive prepaid trip (cruise, organised tour) where cancellation cover is critical. Travelling with managed chronic conditions. Frequent traveller with annual policy.
Is the €350k Europe limit really that different from Integral's €75k?
For routine medical, no. For complex hospitalisations (ICU, neurology, cardiology), yes. A 7-day ICU stay in Switzerland or Germany can easily run €60k+. Prestige's higher limits matter on the rare-but-catastrophic end.
